Uzbekistan

The country is considered the heart of the Silk Road. Cities like Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva have impressed travelers for centuries. However, over a period of hundreds of years, this »heart of the Silk Road« had no heart for Christians. They suffered from harassment and persecution. Christians were monitored by the state, Christian communities had to be registered, but the required registration was made practically impossible.
