Thailand faces political uncertainty, economic stagnation, and social challenges. In 2025, Thailand experienced a severe political crisis. Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra was removed from office by the Constitutional Court in August following corruption and constitutional conflicts. According to surveys, the majority of the population is pessimistic: over 50% expect continued instability and economic problems.

The Thai government officially recognizes the right of Christian communities to worship and conduct activities. The relationship between Christians and other religious groups in Thailand is generally respectful, although tensions or conflicts can occasionally arise. Thai society is predominantly Buddhist.

In addition to the work in the rural regions, Thailand also offers the opportunity to reach, train and empower people from and in neighboring countries - such as Myanmar, Laos or Cambodia.
