2. General information

AVC attaches great importance to the protection of personal data. All personal data will therefore be treated confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy. AVC maintains a register of processing activities involving personal data as a basis for optimizing its data protection and as an aid to providing evidence in the event of inquiries. AVC handles personal data in accordance with its internal data protection policy. Agreements and rules are defined therein in order to comply with the obligations under data protection law and to take the interests and rights of the persons concerned into account in the best possible way. Nevertheless, it must be pointed out that there is an increased security risk, especially for data entered on websites. AVC is committed to providing the best possible, although not complete, protection, with the involvement of IT and web experts.

By using AVC's websites, filling out any registration or contact forms or personally disclosing your personal data (e.g. per email or phone), you agree to the collection, processing and storage of your data. In the case of persons who are registered in AVC's address database, data on the time and, if applicable, place and subject of communication (subscribed print and online media, thank-you letters, donation receipts etc.) are also recorded. Data is disclosed to third parties only in the context of contract fulfillment (e.g. orders, subscriptions/distributions, participation in events/assignments). An order processing contract was concluded with the webmaster, in which data protection is also regulated. Other passing on of personal data does not take place without your consent.

3. Data subject rights

Your rights in connection with your personal data are given at any time and can be asserted verbally or in writing, namely:

Information about your data stored by us and its processing
Correction of incorrect personal data
Restriction of data processing, revocation of consent given or deletion of your data stored by us, provided this does not affect our legal obligations.

As a matter of principle, data will no longer be used as soon as the purpose is no longer given. Due to the organization's retention obligation of 10 years, a request for deletion is considered implemented in the sense that data is no longer actively used (distributions, communication, etc.), but can still be found in the database due to traceability (deactivated).

4. Privacy policy for cookies

AVC uses cookies in its websites. Cookies are data that the visited website or its server stores on the visitor's device via the browser in order to recognize the visitor later. Through these, AVC can analyze the use of the websites and optimize them for visitors. In addition, certain data entered is stored on the visitor's terminal device and automatically reappears the next time the website is visited. Entries in the web store are thus retained until the Internet browser is closed. Cookies can be blocked in the settings of the web browser and anytime also be deleted from the end device. By blocking cookies, it may not be possible to use all functions of the website.

5. Plugins and other used softwares

Various plugins are installed on AVC's websites. Through these, e.g. videos, stores, payment tools, maps, etc. are directly integrated into the AVC websites. Furthermore, AVC uses software from third parties for the operation of the websites. The use of these plugins and software modules is based on the legitimate interest of the website operator. They are governed by their own legally mandated and product-specific privacy policies. Some third-party products used are:

reCAPTCHA, Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street Dublin 4, Ireland). To prevent automated programs from making entries on AVC websites, reCAPTCHA is used for forms or input masks. This ensures that a human being makes the input. The processing and forwarding of test-specific data is subject to Google's privacy policy.

Matomo, open source software (EU Representative, ePrivacy Holding GmbH Große Bleichen 21, 20354 Hamburg, Germany, privacy@matomo.org). Matomo is a widely used web analytics tool that is also used by large website operators. This software, including cookies, enables AVC to statistically evaluate the use of its own website and to continuously develop it further.

Video portal Vimeo (Vimeo LLC, 555 West 18th Street, New York, NY 10011, USA) and YouTube (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). AVC uses the two video portals to integrate videos created in-house into the websites via plugins and to offer them via additional platforms. Each time you call up a video, a connection is established between your browser and Vimeo or YouTube. Both platforms use legally permitted tools to analyze the online movements and interests of visitors. Both Vimeo and YouTube are bound by the legally prescribed data protection guidelines when using data.

Acymailing (Company: SAS ALTAVIA JETPULP, 12-14 avenue Tony Garnier, Le Quatuor, Bâtiment 4C, 69007 Lyon, www.acymailing.com). Acymailing is a widely used mailing tool. AVC uses Acymailing as an email sending tool (integrated webpage addon). The form for subscribing to AVC publications indicates that by clicking "subscribe" you agree to the transmission of your data to Acymailing.

6. Copyrights

The content (text, images, etc.) and works (videos, publications, etc.) created by AVC on the websites operated by AVC and in the print and online media of AVC are subject to Swiss copyright law. Duplication, processing, distribution, and any form of commercialization of such material beyond the scope of the copyright law shall require the prior written consent of AVC. Downloads and copies are only permitted for private, but not for public or commercial use. Insofar as the content on the web pages was not created by AVC, the copyrights of third parties are respected. Should you nevertheless become aware of a copyright infringement, please inform us accordingly. If we become aware of any infringements, we will remove the affected content immediately.

7. General disclaimer

All information, offers and statements on the websites and print and online media of AVC are carefully checked before publication. It is important to AVC to keep all published information up-to-date and truthful. However, errors cannot be excluded despite all efforts.

Liability claims arising from any damage caused by the web pages and the information published thereon as well as the print and online media are excluded to the extent permitted by law. Visiting the websites, opening or downloading files of any kind, entering personal data and using information is at your own risk. AVC also disclaims any responsibility and liability for any linked third-party websites, including but not limited to any content that may be criminal or immoral.

8. Further provisions

The privacy policy of AVC is part of the General Terms and Conditions of AVC. We reserve the right to adapt this privacy policy at any time and without prior notice so that it always complies with the current legal requirements or in order to implement changes to our services in the data protection declaration. The valid version is the one published on the website. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact AVC at any time.

9. Entry into force

This privacy policy comes into force on 01.09.2023. It replaces all privacy policies of AVC valid until this date.
