Logistics event 2024

The Review

Over 80 guests attended our logistics event in Safnern on Saturday - all highly motivated helpers who volunteer with AVC throughout the year. In a great atmosphere, with good conversation and in an international atmosphere - with participants from Iran, Iraq and Ukraine as well as a considerable number from western Switzerland - we were able to thank those present for their loyal help with sausages and a delicious rösti from the giant pan. The weather played along and showed its best side, which was very pleasing as the event took place outside.

We were able to welcome Dino from Bosnia as a special guest. It is a miracle that this man with a criminal background is still alive. Thanks to a missionary, he found faith in Jesus Christ. Today he runs “Pasija”, a second-hand store in Bosnia, where he sells some of the donated clothes, but also gives a lot away to children's homes and people in need. The collaboration with AVC came about because of a vision: in a dream, Dino saw a large hall full of clothes. And when he visited AVC in Safnern for the first time six years ago, he recognized the hall from his dream and cried because his vision had become reality. Dino gave a very moving testimony about this at the logistics event.

Without these volunteers, some of whom have been with us for over 20 years, we would not be able to do our work. They run clothing collection points where they sort, wash and repair the clothes that arrive. They sort clothes at AVC in Safnern and ensure that we can send out good quality textiles. They help load and unload trucks, drive trucks and lend a hand in a variety of ways. Without them, it would be impossible for AVC to handle around 1000 tons of relief supplies every year. We would like to take this opportunity to thank them most sincerely!
