Persecution and revival
The greater the oppression of faith, the stronger the hunger for God: Reports at the ACP annual event described how Christianity continues to spread despite terror, attacks, and torture.
Through our two guest speakers, the ACP Annual Event 2025 in Zurich focused on the situation of Christians in China and Mali.
Isaac Liu, a pastor in Germany and son of “Heavenly Man” Brother Yun, reported on the torture his father suffered for years in Chinese prisons as a preacher of the Gospel. Isaac himself should never have been born, according to the Chinese government. But Isaac survived, was baptized at the age of seven, and has been preaching since he was eleven. “The signs of persecution are also the signs of life in Jesus,” he says. “Through God's goodness, the persecuted retain a soft and joyful heart.”

Faith stronger than terror
“The persecution of Christians in China has increased,” Isaac reported. Surveillance is omnipresent and freedom is severely restricted. "But Christians are not afraid to preach the gospel. The number of churches is growing, and the hunger for God is great.“ Around 1,600 Chinese missionaries from Isaac's underground network are also traveling in neighboring countries to share the Gospel. ”Our theology is: Get on your knees and call on the name of Jesus!" exclaimed the Chinese native.
Islamization by force
In Mali, jihadists are invading from the north and have already taken over half the country. They are harassing Christian villages, murdering male residents, stealing livestock, burning fields, closing schools, and introducing Sharia law – while the government is unable to protect the population. The accounts given by Mathieu Kodio, head of ACP Néhémie Mali, were horrifying. A song about the power of the Holy Spirit, performed by his wife Dina Kodio in the local language, brought a comforting and hopeful atmosphere to the hall. The audience – around 500 participants – applauded enthusiastically. “AVC wants to raise awareness among people in Western countries about the bleeding part of the body of Christ,” said Sacha Ernst, head of ACP Switzerland.
A successful “family celebration”
In Zurich, 40 people from the Buechgg Churchworked to make the ACP annual event a big family celebration. Numerous positive responses confirm that this was a great success, and we owe them our heartfelt thanks. The almost tropical outdoor temperatures also helped to bring the event's motto, “Fire and Flame,” to life.
We are already looking forward to the annual event in 2026! Make a note: June 20, 2026 with the whole ACP-Family. See you soon!
